Divine Healing

The Doctrine of Divine Healing is a biblical truth presented in both the Old and New Testaments. In studying this topic, numerous scriptures promise healing, and many others reveal healing through demonstration. Healing and miracles played a crucial role in the ministry of Jesus and were largely responsible for His widespread appeal. Divine Healing is part of the Atonement and is often paired with forgiveness. Laying hands on the sick is one of the “bookends” of the Great Commission in Mark chapter sixteen and was intended to be proclaimed alongside the Gospel of salvation.

Outreaches that pray for the sick have been drawing massive crowds since New Testament times, with healing being referred to as the “Gospel Dinner Bell.” For those who are sick, especially with incurable diseases or fatal illnesses, the message of Divine Healing can offer the only hope of reclaiming a normal life.

In my study of this vital subject over the years, I have found it tremendously helpful to divide the Healing scriptures in the Bible into four sections or categories for the purpose of study and meditation. I refer to these categories as the four pillars of truth on which the Doctrine of Healing is built. These truths are progressive in nature, and every Scripture and every example of Divine Healing in the Bible can be listed in one or more of these categories.

The four truths are: 1. Sickness is the result of Sin and Satan 2. Divine Healing is the Will of God 3. Divine Healing is part of our Redemption 4. Divine Healing is received by Faith

In this Booklet, I will briefly explain these truths and provide an extensive list categorizing nearly all healing scriptures and examples from both the Old and New Testaments into these four groups. I believe this will be a valuable tool in your pursuit of a deeper understanding of Divine Healing.
